Hello Rob, I am hoping that you might be able to offer some insight, if not a solution to an issue that I am having? The SBBSLIST feature of my BBS doesn't seem to be working correctly.
I have completly rebuilt my SBBS in Ubuntu (I was previously running Debian). I built (the debug version of SBBS) from the instructions documented in the wiki for UNIX and have it up and running for the most part. DOVE-Net and FidoNet message areas seem to be working... However,
my Mystical Realm BBS listing that I created in my BBS door this past Sunday is not updating/pushing up to the main list maintained on the
Wiki, and I've noticed my BBS does not seem to be pulling down the complete list to display in my BBS. The only listings I see are the
ones that i've added myself.
I've made sure that all of my ports are open and forwarded to my box as listed in the TCP/IP wiki entry.
I've also confirmed that my SMB2SBL, SBL2SMB, SBLUPDAT, and SBLMAINT
timed events are all enabled, so I am not sure where else to look or
other actions to try?

Check your SYNCDATA message base. Does it have BBS list entry messages downloaded from Vertrauen?
Does it contain your BBS list entry message?
I do see "Mystical Realm BBS" listed at https://synchro.net/sbbslist.html
Or try one of these systems, today:
@EXEC:sbbslist-logoff@

I had to remove the 'REST Q' access requirement for the Synchronet Data sub-board to see that I have 77 messages in there, which are varying "avatar" or "high-score" type of messages and a few SBL messages, including my own for Mystical Realm BBS to:SBL on 4/21 with some JSON at the end and a signature of: ---sbbslist.js 1.68

The entry at https://synchro.net/sbbslist.html is from when I first setup the BBS a few weeks ago. That same day of the initial install, I had updated the ports for SSH (2222) and Telnet (2323) and added a preview to include in the bbs list, a FidoNet address a few days later and "verified" the listing in my BBS door. Nothing seemed to update at the main synchro.net list when I checked the following day(s) after.
I do know that after I got DOVE-Net setup initally, and my first QWK negotiation took place, I had a complete list of BBS's that mirrored the list at synchro.net when I looked in my BBS list door. That was when I had inquired about presenting the list of 12 or so random BBS at logoff to the user before they left and you had indicated that I could add:
Or try one of these systems, today:
@EXEC:sbbslist-logoff@
To my /sbbs/text/menu/logoff.asc file to achieve that. But since I don't seem to be pulling that list, it only presents to two BBS's that I manually added to my BBS list door...
...and since that first install setup and subsequent move to Ubuntu from Debian, nothing has updated (relative to the bbs list).
That'd explain why you don't yet have a lot of BBS entries. You can reset your scan pointers for that sub-board on Vertrauen and get all the messages (and exported BBS entries) in that sub on Vertrauen if you like.
Is your system uploading QWKnet REP packets successfully to Vertrauen?
Did you reinstall SBBS? Change your system's QWK-ID?

Yes, I did reinstall SBBS into an Ubuntu environment (I could not get DOSEMU2 to work in Debian), but I used my same QWK-ID in my BBS settings as well as the same settings (mystrelm/<<password>>) and in my network for VERT on my BBS:
Okay, that explains why you weren't getting all the messages on your new install. Only the *new* messages posted/imported since your last poll (with your old Debian install) would have been sent to you, until you reset your scan pointers.

Gotcha.
So what could be the reason then that Mystical Realm BBS hasn't updated then since the end of March? This is what I changed in my sbbslist door when I noticed that what appeared in the main list had a misspelling and I wanted to update it with my FidoNet address:

Here is what it looked like back at the tail end of March and soon after making my changes (top), I expected it to look more like so (bottom):

The entry was creted by "Craig Daters" so can only be updated by "Craig Daters" @ MYSTRELM. Looks like you're going by a different username now.

I see...Yes, I changed it to my "Handle." What would be the right way to fix it?
I'll delete the BBS entry for you, so you can recreate it with your new username. --
