    No, there is log output before a server resolves host names (and resolving host names is optional anyway).

    But in the log window I see him all the time,
    it would have been nice to avoid that.

    I use fail2ban on GNU/Linux for this. It's make dynamic firewall rules
    so, at kernel level and sbbs never care to process it.
