ketchup does, however, go well with fried rice:
cooked rice, ketchup, [onion, green pepper, corn, carrots, peas, chicken.. depends on what you're going for..], stir fried and then squeezed up a bit like you might the contents of a burrito and contained similarly with a thin, preferably runny omelette on top. then ketchup on top of the omelette.

certainly a dish that might be more popular with kids than adults.. which is why the fancy version often ends up with demi-glace sauce instead
i make that and japanese style curry when i go on vacation, for no other real reason than i coincidentally kept thinking of it around that time a year and came to associate it with vacation :)
